JFK Airport Updates Pick-Up and Drop-Off Options Amid Construction

JFK Airport Updates Pick-Up and Drop-Off Procedures
John F. Kennedy International Airport is advising passengers and drivers that pick-ups and drop-offs may take longer than usual because of ongoing construction at the airport. Travelers are encouraged to use public transportation when possible.
Terminal Curbside Pick-Up and Drop-Off
Parking is not permitted in front of or next to any JFK terminal. Terminal curbsides are reserved for active passenger pick-ups and drop-offs only.
Drivers who leave their vehicles unattended at the terminal curbside may have their vehicles towed at the owner's expense.
Free Wait Lot
JFK offers a free on-airport wait lot for drivers picking up or dropping off passengers. Travelers can reach all airport terminals from the lot using a free eight-minute AirTrain ride.
Drivers using the wait lot must remain inside their vehicles at all times. The lot can be accessed from the Van Wyck Expressway or Belt Parkway near the airport entrance and is closest to Terminals 1 and 4.
For passengers traveling through Terminals 5, 7 and 8, JFK recommends using the Cell Phone Lot.
Free Cell Phone Lot
The East Cell Phone Lot provides another free option for drivers waiting to pick up passengers. The lot is located near the JFK Expressway and is less than five minutes from all terminals.
It is the closest waiting lot for passengers arriving at Terminals 5, 7 and 8.
AirTrain Connections
The JFK AirTrain connects passengers between the airport terminals, parking areas, the hotel shuttle area, the rental car center and public transportation.
Passengers using the free wait lot can use the AirTrain to reach their terminal without navigating the congested terminal roadways.
