Port Authority Announces 2025 Fly Quiet Winners at JFK
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has announced the winners of the 2025 Fly Quiet Program at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), recognizing participating airlines for their efforts to reduce aircraft noise and operate more sustainably.
The Fly Quiet Program is a voluntary noise-abatement initiative established by the Port Authority in partnership with airlines and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The program encourages aircraft operators at JFK, Newark Liberty International Airport and LaGuardia Airport to follow noise-abatement procedures, use preferential runway programs and operate the quietest available aircraft.
2025 JFK Fly Quiet Program
Each year, the Port Authority evaluates participating air carriers based on several factors, including fleet mix, community engagement, pilot training and sustainability efforts.
The program recognizes airlines that demonstrate strong performance in reducing aircraft noise and supporting more sustainable airport operations.
For 2025, the JFK Fly Quiet Program recognized:
American Airlines — Gold
Emirates — Gold
JetBlue — Gold
Delta Air Lines — Silver
The four airlines were recognized for their performance under the program's criteria, which focus on quieter aircraft operations, compliance with noise-abatement procedures and broader sustainability efforts.
Promoting Quieter Airport Operations
The Fly Quiet Program is designed to strengthen cooperation between the Port Authority, airlines and the FAA while encouraging operating practices that reduce the impact of aircraft noise on surrounding communities.
The initiative covers the Port Authority's three major commercial airports in the New York and New Jersey region: JFK, Newark Liberty International Airport and LaGuardia Airport.
